Nicholas Spiva Identified As Motorcycle Crash Victim

Spiva killed Monday at about 6:40 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Nicholas Spiva of Palm Bay was killed Monday at about 6:40 p.m. in an automobile – motorcycle crash at Dairy Road and Eber Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Spiva’s identity was initially withheld pending notification of next of kin.

FHP-TRAFFIC-FATALITY-180According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Michaeleen Blair, 83, was traveling northbound on Dairy Road in the left turn lane, as the Spiva, 25, was riding a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Dairy Road in the through lane.

The traffic light for Dairy Road turned yellow and Blair, of Melbourne, attempted to make a left turn onto Eber Boulevard.

As Spiva traveled straight through the intersection, the front of the his motorcycle struck the right, front of Blair’s 2006 Hyundai, and Spiva was ejected from the motorcycle.

This crash remains under investigation.
