BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech track & field returns to action on Thursday, as the Panthers compete in the USF Invitational in Tampa, Florida.

FIT will only compete in one event on Thursday, the men’s hammer throw, scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

On Friday, jumping events will begin with the pole vault at 10 a.m., while running events kick off with the 3,000-meter steeplechase at noon.

The invitational will wrap up on Friday with the men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relay races.

The Panthers opened the season at the Embry-Riddle Last Chance meet on Feb. 21.Alexis Santiago earned the lone first-place victory in edging out Northwood’s Mariah Johnson in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.64 seconds, surpassing Rhoni Gavagni’s FIT record.

Casie Clark also impressed, topping the school record in the long jump with a leap of 4.92m for fifth.
