ORLANDO, FLORIDA  (UCFKnights.com) – The hitting picked up during Friday’s practice since the Knights were allowed to don shoulder pads for the first time.

It was UCF’s third session of preseason camp, which will run through Aug. 23 leading up to the first day of fall semester classes Aug. 24.

Head coach George O’Leary took his team inside Nicholson Fieldhouse for the first time this camp to get away from any potential inclement weather that usually hovers over the Orlando area in the afternoons.

UCF spent a lot of time on individual drills Friday, including the offensive and defensive lines battling each other in the trenches. The best catch of the day came from linebacker Mark Rucker, who laid out for a diving interception near the sideline.
