Cocoa Police Seek Suspect In Armed Robbery At Days Inn In Cocoa

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police detectives and patrol officers are currently searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Friday morning about 10 a.m. at the Days Inn, located at 5600 State Road 524, after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
According to Cocoa Public Information Officer Yvonne Martinez, the on-duty desk clerk at the hotel told officers a white male entered the lobby, threatened her with a gun and demanded money.
The clerk complied and the suspect fled in a vehicle.
Just prior to the reported armed robbery, officers received a bulletin from the Titusville Police Department about an similar incident that occurred in its jurisdiction just before 10 a.m.
As a result of the bulletin, officers and sheriff’s deputies were in the area already searching for a suspect vehicle.
A short time later, a sheriff’s deputy located a vehicle matching the description at the Budget Inn on State Road 520 near I-95.
Cocoa police patrol officers then responded and found a woman inside room 222, who was later identified as the girlfriend of the suspect, according to Martinez.
“She denied knowledge of the armed robbery and claims to not know where the suspect is,” said Cocoa Police Sgt. Amy Moon.
“We are continuing to investigate and are following up on several good leads.”
