The Florida Department of Education has approved Brevard Public Schools’ request to waive make-up days due to Hurricane Matthew and BPS will not have to make-up the three days schools were closed due to the storm.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Department of Education has approved Brevard Public Schools’ request to waive make-up days due to Hurricane Matthew and BPS will not have to make-up the three days schools were closed due to the storm.

Brevard Public Schools were closed on Thursday, Oct. 6, Friday, Oct. 7 and Monday, Oct. 10 due to CAT 3 hurricane that skirted the Space Coast, with the eye passing just 40 miles east of Cape Canaveral.

According to Brevard Public Schools, students who took the day off on Oct. 5 will accepted as an excused absence.
