Florida Tech Swim Teams Recognized As College Swimming Coaches Association Scholar All-Americans

FIT women earned 3.35 GPA, Men had 3.12 GPA

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After accumulating cumulative grade point averages above 3.0, Florida Tech men’s and women’s swimming have been recognized as College Swimming Coaches Association of American Division II Scholar All-America Teams.

The FIT women earned a GPA of 3.35, while their male counterparts registered a 3.12 cumulative grade point average.

Six other Sunshine State Conference members made the cut on the women’s side. Florida Southern, Lynn, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, Saint Leo and Tampa join the Panthers on the distinguished list.

FIT is joined by four other SSC men’s teams in Florida Southern, Rollins, Rollins and Saint Leo.

A record 638 teams, representing 394 institutions have been named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams.

The awards are in recognition of teams’ that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester.

Ninety-one additional teams and thirty-six more institutions achieved the honor compared to a year ago.
