ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – The UCF football team completed its final practice of the spring Wednesday morning, and the Knights are now set to conclude their training with Saturday’s UCFastival and Spring Game, 6:30 p.m. at Spectrum Stadium.

Heading into the game, UCF head coach  Scott Frost is focused more on the success of the last 14 practices than what may happen Saturday.

“Most of what we’re going to judge from spring is based on the 14 practices we’ve just had,” said Frost.

“A lot of things can happen one way or another in a spring game. What I want to see happen in the game is competition and enthusiasm. These guys have made a lot of improvements, and we’re a lot better team, so hopefully that shines on Saturday.”

The Knights are looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of their fans this spring.

“It was emotional knowing this was my last practice for the spring,” Shaquem Griffin said Wednesday. “Going into the spring game, I have my family coming out, and knowing it’s going to be my last one, it’s not a sad thing, it’s more joyful.”

For Saturday the team will be split up into two squads, UCFast and UCFierce.  UCFast will be comprised mostly of first team offense and defense, while UCFierce will be second team guys on both offense and defense.

“We’re starting to get some continuity with the [number] one defense, with some new guys,” Frost said. “We’re getting good continuity with the [number] one offense, with guys getting used to playing together. I want to keep that going and build on that.”
