Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspected Murder-Suicide In Rockledge

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this evening on McIver Lane in Rockledge. The preliminary investigation leads the investigators to believe that the elderly couple located inside the residence were the result of a murder-suicide.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this evening on McIver Lane in Rockledge.

According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office PIO Tod Goodyear, Deputies responded to an emergency 911 call by a male who advised he had shot his wife. Upon arrival, the Deputies observed the male briefly at the front door.

“Deputies then heard a single shot from within the residence and forced entry into the home where they located both a male and female deceased,” said Goodyear.

“The preliminary investigation leads the investigators to believe that the elderly couple located inside the residence were the result of a murder-suicide.”

The identities of the decedents are being withheld at this time. The investigation is ongoing and is expected to continue throughout the evening.
