BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball team’s schedule has a different look heading into the 2017-18 season.

Head coach Andrea Rasmussen-Twelvetrees has tweaked the schedule to have more matches early in the season and the team will move from the Southern Conference to the Mid-Florida Conference.

“Major changes to our schedule this year,” Rasmussen-Twelvetrees said.

“We used to play a lot of weekend matches, an out of state tournament and always tried to have more tournaments than individual matches.”

“This year we changed things up a bit, playing at home more and once we begin conference play, that will be the focus. I felt in the past couple of years our non-conference matches have detracted from playing the best we can in the conference.”

Head coach Andrea Rasmussen-Twelvetrees has tweaked the schedule to have more matches early in the season and the team will move from the Southern Conference to the Mid-Florida Conference.

Once the conference season starts, the Titans will be joining Daytona State College, the College of Central Florida, Polk State and Lake Sumter State College.

“We have a good history of playing the teams that are now in our conference, so it’s good to have that heading into the season,” Rasmussen-Twelvetrees said.

“It is a tough conference and it will be a challenge for us. Any team on any day can play well enough to win. The thing we have learned over time is that we have to take every match as it comes and not get too far ahead of ourselves or make one match bigger than it is.”

The Titans will open the new season Aug. 22 at South Florida State College in Avon Park.
