BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Power and Light reports that the company  has restored service to 296,630 customers, with 10,970 to go in Brevard County as of Sunday afternoon.

FPL has a specific power restoration plan following a severe storm or hurricane. First, FPL restores power to critical functions, like hospitals and 911 centers, and then to the most people in the shortest amount of time.

Restoration work is always done simultaneously, and we work until every customer’s power is back on.

“We have the largest restoration workforce in our history, more than 22,000 employees and contractors, working to restore service after Irma,” said FPL officials.

“Every hour of every day, more and more customers are getting their lights back on. We are committed to doing everything we can to help get your lives back to normal.”
