BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team heads into the Christmas break 11-2 after defeating the Florida State College at Jacksonville on Monday night.

The Titans, who are ranked 25th in the NJCAA Division I poll, jumped out to an 11-point lead after the first quarter and went on to win, 84-78.

Freshman Stephanie Torres led the Titans with 15 points while sophomore Jacquelyn Levay had a season-high 14 points.

Mercy Gonzalez finished with a career-high 13 points to go with a season high nine assists and also grabbed six rebounds in the win. Alana Pinder scored 11 points and Milan Schimmel had 10 for the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College will play in the Lady Jets Holiday Classic in Georgia on Dec. 29-31 before returning to Titan Field House on Jan. 4 against ASA Miami at 2 p.m.
