BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Friday, February 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., several community leaders were charged with failing to obey the Chick-Fil-A standard of “Eat More Chicken”.

The Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability.

The West Melbourne Police Department supports that statement. This year the Police Department teamed up with Chick-Fil-A and community leaders to host the first ‘Cops on the Coop’ fundraiser.

They were arrested and turned over to the Chick-Fil-A Cow Warden. Several community leaders were secured on the roof of the business until their bonds were paid.

The bonds were donations by other citizens. All donations were accepted, and for every $20 donation made, they received a Law Enforcement Run T-Shirt and gift card to Chick-Fil-A, while supplies lasted.

There were also several Olympic Athletes on hand for a meet and greet, Police Vehicle Displays, music and more.
