BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In today’s fast-paced digital world, handwritten notes are almost a thing of the past, having been replaced by electronic forms of communication like emails and texts.

But for many, handwritten notes are still seen as a simple, personal and more thoughtful way to show true appreciation.

When thinking of ways to thank its members, Health First Health Plans recognized the power of the handwritten note.

Recently, more than 600 Health First Health Plans associates, from the CEO to Customer Service representatives, showed their appreciation by writing and mailing more than 29,000 thank-you cards to every Medicare member’s home.

“We thought it was important to tell our members how much we appreciated the opportunity to provide them with the best health plan possible,” said Matthew Gerrell, Chief Executive Officer of Health First Health Plans.

“We were all very excited to pitch in and write these thank-you cards.”

Associates wrote personal thank-you messages for each Medicare member household that is enrolled in Health First Health Plans. Adding that personal touch was just a small gesture that shows huge gratitude.

“It shows we are here for them and are sincere,” said Tony Pangan, an Operational Quality Analyst who has worked at Health First Health Plans since 1999.

“We are their partner in their healthcare journey.”
