COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS IN FLORIDA CURRENTLY 236

As of Monday morning, Brevard County has 88 reported cases of COVID-19, according to the Florida Department of Health. That’s nine more cases in the last 24 hours in Brevard County.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As of Monday morning, Brevard County has 88 reported cases of COVID-19, according to the Florida Department of Health. That’s nine more cases in the last 24 hours in Brevard County.

Among the 88 cases reported in Brevard County are 49 men and 39 women, including a 1-year-old boy and 94-year-old man.

The current Brevard list includes 82 Florida residents and six non-residents. COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization is 23. No deaths as a result of COVID-19 has been reported in Brevard County.

According to the Florida Department of Health, the cases in Brevard geographically include 2 in Mims, 3 in Titusville, 6 in Merritt Island, 6 in Cocoa, 3 in Rockledge, 3 in Cocoa Beach, 5 in Satellite Beach, 2 in Indian Harbour Beach, 29 in Melbourne, 1 in West Melbourne, 15 in Palm Bay, and 1 in Malabar.

Of the 123,274 people tested in Florida on Monday, 109,950 people have tested negative for COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Health has reported a total of 13,324 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state with 1,593 hospitalized.

Deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Florida are 236 as of Monday morning.

While Florida’s testing has increased over the past week, the percent of those testing positive for COVID-19 overall is 11 percent. Of the 7,639 tests performed on April 5, there were 931 positive results, or 12 percent.

Fifteen people have died who tested positive for COVID-19 in Broward, Dade, Lee and St. Lucie counties.

New Florida cases include 974 additional positive COVID-19 cases (964 Florida residents and 10 non-Florida residents) reported to the Florida Department of Health. There are currently 12,925 positive cases in Florida residents and 399 positive cases in non-Florida residents.

In the U.S., 337,274 cases have been reported and 9,633 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19. Global cases reported are 1,273,794 with 69,419 deaths.
