BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – For more than two decades, the Cape Canaveral Student Art Show has been a springtime cultural staple for students throughout Brevard County.

In the last few years, it has expanded exponentially and now features the artwork from as many as 16 schools — to include a mix of public, private, and charter institutions as well as those enrolled in home school programs.

As the world continues to grapple with the persisting health threat posed by COVID-19, the City of Cape Canaveral remains committed to promoting the exceptional talents of our young artists in a manner that is both safe and convenient for everyone involved.

After receiving a wealth of positive feedback from last year’s blind leap into the world of virtual exhibitions, we’ve decided to do it again!

Starting May 1, the public can experience and share the artwork of the Cape Canaveral Virtual Student Art Show in three online 3-D galleries, via links on the City’s website. These galleries will remain open until June 15 — and our students will be able to share their art with friends and family around the world.

This year, the City incorporated an optional theme into the show, encouraging students to create works that illustrate the spirit of “Resiliency” and the result was overwhelming.

While the different works and approaches serve to emphasize the diversity of the word, it has reinforced the global nature of the myriad of challenges being faced right now by individuals and communities around the world.
