Space Coast Transportation’s Abby Hemenway Honored as Public Relation Pro of the Year

Space Coast Transportation Organization’s Public Information Officer Abby Hemenway, above, has been named PR Pro of the Year by the Space Coast Chapter of the the Florida Public Relations Association

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Transportation Organization’s Public Information Officer Abby Hemenway has been named PR Pro of the Year by the Space Coast Chapter of the the Florida Public Relations Association, and was selected as a member of LeadershipFPRA Class VI, an intensive leadership program hosted by the statewide association.

Hemenway was recently named the Dick Baumbach PR Pro of the Year by the Space Coast Chapter. She demonstrated excellence in the public relations field and has gone above and beyond for FPRA.

The award is named after our founding member, Dick Baumbauch. Hemenway will be recognized at a formal ceremony in September.

Launched in 2016, LeadershipFPRA is a formal, year-long program designed to provide public relations professionals with the tools they need to become stronger leaders in their organizations, their communities, and FPRA.

Class members will participate in multiple intensive seminars focusing on topics ranging from leading and managing to government, law, and ethics.

Selection to the class is competitive, and only 12 individuals were accepted into this year’s class.

“A seasoned public relations professional, Abby gives an incredible amount of her time and talent to our chapter. We are lucky to have her serving the association.”

Hemenway has served as the Public Involvement Officer for SCTPO since 2017, developing and coordinating a public information program that promotes awareness and understanding of transportation planning, projects, and initiatives through proactive communication with the general public.

Prior to joining the SCTPO, she served as the Media and Content Coordinator for Brevard Public Schools, where she handled district-wide communications and media relations.
