Death Investigation Underway in Unincorporated Cocoa After Man Shot Dead

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred Tuesday morning at a residence on Uranus Drive in unincorporated Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred Tuesday morning at a residence on Uranus Drive in unincorporated Cocoa.

Deputies responded to the residence at approximately 9:18 a.m. after the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Cocoa Police Department who reported they had received a 911 call advising a person had been shot in the residence.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

BCSO Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time and no arrests have been made.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed this was a targeted attack and there is no danger to the general public, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
