BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Mayor Medina along with Deputy Mayor Johnson and City Manager Suzanne Sherman joined members of Palm Bay Fire Rescue, both current and retired, for the start of the demolition of Palm Bay’s former Fire Station #1.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue proposed the demolition and remediation of this site with funding from FY 2020-2021 Community Development Block Grant to make way for a future Fire Station #7 to meet the growing needs of the northeast quadrant of Palm Bay.

The estimated time for demolition is approximately three weeks, with the long-term plan to replace the fire station with a new three-bay station.

Design and development of the future Fire Station #7 are slated for 2022, with a possible 2023 construction start date.
