Launch Credit Union celebrated Earth Day by encouraging its members to enroll in e-statements to reduce paper waste. More than 975 members enrolled in e-statements during the month of April, which resulted in a savings of approximately $1,900 to the credit union in terms of the cost of postage and paper. BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Launch Credit Union celebrated Earth Day by encouraging its members to enroll in e-statements to reduce paper waste.

More than 975 members enrolled in e-statements during the month of April, which resulted in a savings of approximately $1,900 to the credit union in terms of the cost of postage and paper.

Launch rounded that up to $2,000 and donated those funds to the Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition.

“Our employees and our members live and work in the Indian River Lagoon area,” said Carli Barr, Digital Marketing Specialist for Launch CU.

“We wanted to give back to our community and help make an impact on keeping our environment a safe and clean place for generations.”

David Carbone, Treasurer, and Craig Wallace, Chairman accepted the check on behalf of the BIRLC.

“We thank Launch CU and look forward to working together in what future endeavors the future may hold,” said Wallace.

The Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, nonpartisan organization seeking and facilitating education and collaboration – bringing together organizations, businesses, and individuals who share the goal of supporting the restoration of the Lagoon.

The Indian River Lagoon stretches 156 miles from Ponce De Leon Inlet in New Smyrna Beach in the north to Jupiter Inlet near West Palm Beach to the south.

The Indian River Lagoon system includes Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon, and Indian River. This is a unique and diverse system that connects Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties.
