BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team picked up a tough 1-0 victory against the College of Southern Nevada Friday in Nevada.

With 18 minutes and 36 seconds left in the second half, Adrian Adrian hit a perfect corner kick that came across the front of the net where Hayden Wood got a head on it, sending it into the corner of the net.

It was Wood’s first goal of the season and gave the Titans the lead despite being a man down for much of the second half.

“We played some good soccer, it was a good game. We created a few chances, our buildup was pretty good, but we just didn’t get the final shot off,” Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer coach Adam Butler, who picked up his first win with the Titans.

“Our back line was good, Jorge (Ortega) made some big saves and it was a game that our defense took over and then Hayden stepped up and got the game-winner. The captain was out and we stepped up.”

The No. 19 Titans improved to 1-1 on the season with the victory and will return to Melbourne to play Johnson University on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium.
