Mims Teen Critically Injured After Shooting on Cypress Avenue, Suspect Wanted

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in Mims.

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in Mims.

According to the BCSO, deputies responded to Cypress Avenue around 9 p.m. in about a report of a shooting in the area.

When deputies arrived, they located a 16-year-old male victim, who had been injured in the shooting.

He was transported to the hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

The investigation has determined thus far that the victim was with two other teenagers when they were confronted by two suspects who began shooting at the group.

The victim was shot while he attempted to flee the area.

No other people were injured in the incident.

Based on interviews and evidence collected by the investigators, it appears the shooting was a targeted attack, not a random act.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time and no arrests have been made.
