BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Pegine, one of the world’s top motivational speakers, will talk about successful leadership as the next Simpkins Speaker Series guest at Eastern Florida State College.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Nov. 16 at the Simpkins Fine Arts Center (Bldg. 4) on the Cocoa Campus, located at 1519 Clearlake Road.

It is free and open to students, EFSC faculty and staff, and the public.

Pegine is a best-selling author, award-winning businesswoman, and advisor to U.S. presidents, Fortune 500 executives, women CEOs and generals, and admirals.

Her focus is on ways to increase influence, profits, productivity, and positivity. She is the founder of Power Women Worldwide. Her newest book is “Called to Lead: Success Strategies for Women.”

Prior books include “Sometimes You Have to Kick Your Own Butt” and “Take Charge and Lead: Ten Truths to Lead in a Diverse World.”

She goes by her first name Pegine, joking that if it is good enough for Oprah, Shakira, and Beyonce, it is good enough for her.

Pegine lives in Jacksonville and has been named the Small Business Administration’s Women in Business Champion for Florida, SBA Entrepreneur of the Year in Florida, and in the state’s Top 100 Minority-Owned Businesses.

The Simpkins Speaker Series is named after Bernard Simpkins, a highly successful entrepreneur and Brevard County business leader who established the sessions that have brought some of the nation’s top business innovators to EFSC.
