Five Eastern Florida State College Baseball Players Named to All-Southern Conference Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – For the first time in Eastern Florida State College history, a baseball player has made the All-Southern Conference team twice.

Dalton Robinson was named to the first team as a pitcher and the second team as a designated hitter this season.

Overall, five players were named to the All-Southern Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon. Robinson, catcher Eddiel Tolentino and infielder Carlos Cordero made the first team with Robinson, outfielder Zach Taylor and first baseman Adrian Dominguez made the second team.

Robinson, a sophomore from Lake Howell, had a 3.48 ERA in 13 appearances, starting 10 games. He tossed 67 1/3 innings and struck out 69 hitters allowing 54 hits. He was 4-4 with a complete game and also got a save for the Titans.

As a designated hitter Robinson hit .311 with three home runs and drove in 28 runs while also scoring 28 times. He also stole 23 bases this season.

Tolentino, a freshman from Kissimmee, hit .336 this season in 35 games with 30 RBI and 19 runs scored. The catcher had six doubles, two triples and two home runs.

Cordero, a freshman from Venezuela, hit .348 in 44 games this season with 44 runs scored and had 27 stolen bases which puts him second in the past decade for the Titans. Cordero had six doubles, a triple and a home run this season.

Taylor, a sophomore from Viera, hit .322 with eight doubles and eight stolen bases in 44 games. Taylor scored 34 times and drove in 31 runs for the Titans

Dominguez, a freshman from Miami, hit .315 with 23 RBI and 23 runs scored in 40 game this season. The first baseman had seven stolen bases and three home runs.

Florida Southwestern’s A.J. Shaver was named the Player of the Year and Miami Dade’s Herrick Hernandez was the Pitcher of the Year. Lucas Hartman won the Fireman of the Year and Florida Southwestern teammate Albert Serrano was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Southern Conference.
