Port Canaveral Lieutenant Firefighter Russel “Russ” George unexpectedly passed away on August 17. George was a Father, Husband, Friend, and valued member of the Port Canaveral Fire Department. BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Port Canaveral Lieutenant Firefighter Russel “Russ” George unexpectedly passed away on August 17.

George was a Father, Husband, Friend, and valued member of the Port Canaveral Fire Department.

Russ served the City of Port Canaveral, and Canaveral Fire Rescue since 2011.

A Celebration of Life is set for Saturday, August 26 at 10 a.m.

The Location will be the First Baptist Church Of Merritt Island on 140 Magnolia Avenue.

“Please respect the family’s privacy, and keep them, and our members in your prayers during this difficult time,” said a Port Canaveral Fire spokesperson.
