BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – We would like to introduce the winner of our very first “BCSO Blue Light Special”…Torrein Archer.

Archer was out for a late night drive when he stopped at a stop sign and just fell asleep at the wheel!! While we recently studied about this phenomenon in a chapter of “Drug Dealing For Dummies,” it didn’t help Archer who quickly got a wake up call from Deputy Terry Adams who pulled up behind his vehicle and took things from there.

Deputy Adams found Archer passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle and was able to wake him up, but could also smell marijuana coming from inside the vehicle which is what we in police work call “a clue”.

Learning that Archer did not posses a Medical Marijuana Card, Deputies began to search the vehicle, as well as Archer’s person, and quickly located large amounts of cash in his pocket and drugs in the vehicle.

As you can see from the photo, he had quite of bit of both which earned him a free ride to the Brevard County Jail.

Now here is where Archer went even more brain dead…when Archer realized he was about to be the next guest at “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” he took off running from the front of the patrol car like he was actually going to get away!! Are you nuts? This is Brevard County and I guess he had not gotten the memo that “if you run from BCSO you only go to jail tired!”

Well as you might imagine, it didn’t take our Deputies but a few steps to run him down and cuff and stuff him in the back of our Lodge Courtesy Shuttle.

Ultimately, Archer was charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Driving While License Suspended (Habitual Offender), Commission of a Felony In Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle, and Resisting Without Violence. Archer was booked into the Lodge on our Blue Light Bond Special of $17,500.

As always, I couldn’t be more proud of our Deputies and the amazing job they do each and every day to keep our community safe!! Another criminal is behind bars, and more poison is off of our streets.
