Titusville Man Dies After Crashing Into Brevard County Dump/Hazmat Site During High-Speed Chase

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 42-year-old Titusville man has died after a fatal crash happened early Friday morning at the Brevard County Dump/Hazmat site near Park Ave. and State Road 405.
Authorities say the crash happened when the driver crashed into a closed gate at the Brevard County Dump/Hazmat site, then ran off the roadway, went airborne and struck a ditch.
The man died at the scene of the crash.
Before the crash, an eyewitness says the vehicle had no headlights on and was traveling at a high rate of speed at the intersection of Park Ave and SR-405 shortly before it crashed.
The driver was allegedly fleeing a Titusville Police cruise for having no lights on around 2:19 a.m.
Police say they were attempting to stop the vehicle but eventually lost contact with the vehicle prior to the crash.
After further investigation, authorities recovered a stolen firearm.
The crash is under investigation.
The man’s identity has not yet been released by police.
