750 Students Competing in Brevard Public Schools’ Boeing Destination Moon Challenge Now Underway in Viera

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA—The Brevard Schools Foundation, Brevard Public Schools, and The Boeing Company is hosting the 2025 Boeing Destination Moon Challenge, an exciting STEM competition in which student teams take on real-world space exploration challenges.
Participants will include:
● 5th and 6th-grade student teams (total of 59 teams) from 44 Brevard County elementary schools – over 750 students participating
● STEM professionals from Boeing and other space industry leaders
● Brevard Public Schools educators and administrators
● Community and corporate partners supporting STEM education
The event dates are set for March 5, March 6, March 10, March 12, and March 27, at 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day at Brevard Public Schools, Educational Services Facility, 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, in Viera.

This event brings STEM learning to life as students apply science, engineering, and coding skills to design and present solutions for future Moon missions. With the Artemis program set to return humans to the Moon, the next generation of innovators is already preparing for the future of space exploration—right here in Brevard County.
HIGHLIGHTS
● Student-led innovation: Teams will showcase their designs for lunar habitats, robotic rovers, and other Moon-related projects.
● Judging by industry experts: Engineers and STEM professionals from Boeing and other top aerospace companies will serve as judges.
● Hands-on STEM engagement: Students will demonstrate their problem-solving skills using robotics, Minecraft Education, and coding.
Brevard Schools Foundation fills educational funding and opportunity gaps at all 85 public schools for 74,000 students and 8,000 teachers and staff by supporting innovation, engaging communities, and changing lives. Funds come from private contributions, corporate support, public matching funds, fundraising, and endowments.
