Port St. John and Merritt Island Came out Victorious

District 22 All-Star play continued Wednesday night with the 8/9/10 Baseball division at Port St. John’s Space Coast Communities Sports Complex.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 All-Star play continued Wednesday night with the 8/9/10 Baseball division at Port St. John’s Space Coast Communities Sports Complex.

District 22 All-Star play continued Wednesday night with the 8/9/10 Baseball division at Port St. John’s Space Coast Communities Sports Complex. Here’s the match-ups:

On Field 1

Mims Little League was the visiting team, and Port St. John LL was the home team. Port St. John opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with Julius Robinson reaching first on an error and scoring on a single by Mason Partridge. Mims would answer in the third with runs by Brayden Browning, Weston Primmer, and Jude Thorne to enter the fourth with a 3-1 lead.

Jeffery Huff and Luke Minnear would score for Mims in the top of the 4th with another run tacked on by Giani Avila on a passed ball following his RBI triple. Port’s John Coakley and Mason Partridge would each score, and Mims would enter the fifth inning with a 6-3 lead. Mims would add runs in the fifth with Lucas Reechy, Joe Sumne,r and Kaiden Kish crossing the plate.

Port’s Micah Mitchell would add a run in the bottom half of the inning, but Mims would go into the sixth inning with a 9-4 lead. After Mims’ bats were silent in the top of the sixth, Port received 4 walks and a hit batsman, along with singles from Julius Robinson, John Coakley, and Mason Partridge while receiving runs from Easton Morrison, Robinson, Coakley, Jace Fowler, Partridge, and the winning run from Ace Ellershaw in Port’s 10-9 victory.

On Field 2

Indian River City (IRCLL) met Merritt Island’s All-Stars (MILL). IRCLL scored in the first with runs from Bryson English, Waylon Mack-Weller, and Caiden O’Connor. Merritt Island would answer with runs from Jackson Wartell, Cooper Milton, Solomon Connel, and Henry Deranjo. Wartell and Milton scored again in the second while Damien Casillas would add a run, making the score 3-7 after 2 innings.

In the third, IRC’s Brandon Udo and Rylan Wyatt would walk, and Jaxon Cotten hit a 2-run double and then scored on a passed ball. Merritt Island would post runs from Sammy Day and Hudson Esposito in their half of the third to maintain the lead at 10-6.

IRC would post their final run in the sixth as Rylan Wyatt scored. But Merritt Island would come out swinging with David Casillas scoring his second run of the night. In the bottom of the fifth, Esposito and Day would score their second runs of the night and Ethan Weber would post a run for a Merritt Island lead of 13-6. In the top of the 6th, Rylan White would add a run for Indian River City, but it wasn’t enough as Merritt Island won 13-7.
