BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA — Water service has been restored to all affected customers between 2900 – 2927 Hwy. A1A and 4982 – 4995 Hwy. A1A in Melbourne Beach, , including all customers located on connecting streets in between these north and south limits addresses.

A leak occurred in a large water distribution main located at 2980 Hwy. A1A in Melbourne Beach, near the 7-11. To repair the leak, city crews temporarily closed a valve at 2900 – 2927 Hwy A1A Melbourne Beach on June 20. Service has been restored.

Due to the interruption in service and the drop in water pressure, as a precaution, the City of Melbourne advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

Affected Customers

● All water customers between 2900 – 2927 Hwy. A1A and 4982 – 4995 Hwy. A1A in Melbourne Beach, including all customers located on connecting streets in between these north and south limits addresses.

● Customers located north of 2900 – 2927 Hwy. A1A are not affected.

Expected Duration of Precautionary Boil Water Notice

This precautionary boil water notice is expected to remain in effect until the required bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

The earliest that test results will be available will be Monday, June 23.

Once these test results are received, the City of Melbourne will issue an update alerting the public if the water is confirmed to be safe or if further testing is needed.
