Cocoa Police Teams Up With Residents to Remove Meth and Fentanyl Drug Dealers From Neighborhood

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A coordinated effort between the Cocoa Police Department’s SWAT team, narcotics investigators, and watchful residents has resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the removal of a significant quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl from a Cocoa neighborhood.

According to police, one of the perps taken into custody is believed to be a major distributor of illegal drugs in the area.

The operation was set in motion after concerned residents on Slippery Rock Drive alerted authorities to suspicious activity.

Acting swiftly on the information provided, investigators launched a detailed probe that led to the issuance and execution of a search warrant this past Friday. The successful operation marked a major step forward in improving safety and quality of life for those living in the neighborhood.

During the attempt to apprehend the suspects, one of them tried to flee the scene. Cocoa Police K9 Kyra, working alongside her handler Officer Delos Santos, played a crucial role in stopping the suspect from escaping.

Their teamwork helped prevent the situation from escalating and ensured that the individual could be taken into custody without further threat to the community.
