Palm Bay Police Investigating Two ‘Suspicious’ Deaths at Ascent of Palm Bay Apartments

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The Palm Bay Police Department is investigating the deaths of two individuals discovered Sunday evening at the Ascent of Palm Bay Apartments.

According to police, officers and Palm Bay Fire Rescue personnel responded to the apartment complex around 7:29 p.m. on October 5 after receiving a report of two unresponsive people.

Upon arrival, first responders confirmed both individuals were deceased inside one of the apartment units.

Authorities described the deaths as suspicious in nature, but emphasized that the case is not being treated as a homicide. Investigators said the cause of death will be determined by the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office following autopsies.

“This appears to be an isolated incident,” police said in a statement. “There is no threat to the community.”

Early reports suggesting a child may have been present were later found to be inaccurate.

Palm Bay Police Detectives confirmed that no child was inside the apartment at the time of the incident. The child in question was located safely at another residence and is now in the care of family members.
