BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Brevard Public Schools has reached a historic milestone, posting the highest high school graduation rate in the district’s history.

According to data released by the Florida Department of Education, 92.7 percent of Brevard students in the Class of 2025 graduated on time during the 2024–2025 school year, surpassing both last year’s rate of 89.8 percent and the state’s new record average of 92.2 percent.

The nearly three-point increase represents a significant improvement in student outcomes across the district and underscores the impact of expanded academic supports, personalized learning pathways, and strong school-community partnerships.

“Our graduation rate reflects the hard work of students and the dedication of our educators,” said James Rehmer, Brevard Public Schools’ Chief of Schools.

“This year’s 3 percent increase is a testament to strong support systems and a shared commitment to student success. We are proud of this achievement and the collective effort behind it.”

Several schools recorded dramatic year-over-year gains, led by Brevard Virtual School, which posted a 12.2 percent increase in its graduation rate.

Bayside High School followed with a 10.1 percent improvement, while Cocoa High School climbed 8.6 percent. Eau Gallie High School recorded a 6.9 percent increase, Astronaut High School rose by 6.1 percent, and Palm Bay Magnet High School improved by 5.3 percent.

Additional schools that also saw graduation rate increases include Melbourne High School, Heritage High School, Rockledge High School, Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, Titusville High School, Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School, and Viera High School, reflecting district-wide momentum toward higher student completion rates.

At the top of the list, West Shore Jr./Sr. High School and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School once again achieved a perfect 100 percent graduation rate. Merritt Island High School, Satellite High School, and Viera High School also stood out, each posting graduation rates above 98 percent.

BPS Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell emphasized that the achievement extends far beyond high school classrooms. “The graduation rate is one of the most powerful indicators of a school district’s success,” Rendell said.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell emphasized that the achievement extends far beyond high school classrooms.

“The graduation rate is one of the most powerful indicators of a school district’s success,” Rendell said.

“While we often associate it with high schools, it reflects the work of our entire system—from kindergarten through senior year. Every teacher, every school contributed to this achievement, and all should take pride in reaching this historic milestone.”

District leaders credit the record-setting results to a combination of innovative academic programs, targeted intervention strategies, and strong partnerships with families and community organizations designed to keep students engaged and on track to graduate.

With its graduation rate now exceeding the state average and setting a new district benchmark, Brevard Public Schools continues to reinforce its reputation for academic excellence and student achievement.

Brevard Public Schools congratulated the Class of 2025 and celebrated the educators, families, and community members who helped make the milestone possible.
