BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department is launching the automated school zone speed enforcement program by initiating a public information campaign to educate citizens.

There are three phases of installation and go-live dates.

Phase 1 has a go-live date of March 9, while Phase 2 and Phase 3 are still to be determined. Drivers who exceed the posted speed limit in a school zone by 11+ MPH will receive notice of violations.

Remember, there will be a 60-day warning phase once each phase goes live. After the 60-day warning phase, warnings will become citations.

The automated school zone enforcement program is active within 30 minutes before and through 30 minutes after the start of a regularly scheduled school session, and during the entirety of a regularly scheduled school session.

Titusville PD has and always will take proactive steps to enhance safety in school zones and encourage safer driving speeds through in-person measures and technological measures.

The Titusville Police Department considers traffic, roadway, pedestrian, and bicycle safety as one of our top priorities and strongly supports this automated program to slow traffic and keep our children safe as they travel to and from school and during the school day.
