BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Members of the community gathered at Melbourne Square Mall to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and the unveiling of a patriotic mural created by Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Lance Behringer.

The special ribbon-cutting ceremony recognized Behringer’s latest artwork, a large-scale mural honoring all branches of the United States military and the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have defended the nation throughout its history.

According to Sheriff Wayne Ivey, the event brought together community members, local leaders and supporters to celebrate both the nation’s milestone anniversary and the talent of one of the Sheriff’s Office’s own.

“There has been no shortage of patriotism to celebrate our great nation’s 250th birthday,” said Sheriff Ivey. “Once again, we couldn’t be more proud of our very own Cpl. Lance Behringer for an amazing mural he painted at the Melbourne Square Mall.”

The mural serves as a tribute to the past, present and future of the United States, capturing the spirit of patriotism while recognizing each branch of the military. Sheriff Ivey said Behringer’s artwork reflects the courage, commitment and sacrifice of those who have worn the nation’s uniform.

Behringer, who serves the community as both a law enforcement officer and accomplished artist, has become well known throughout Brevard County for creating murals and artwork that commemorate significant events, honor first responders, celebrate veterans and highlight the community’s shared values.

“If you have a chance to go by the mall, take a moment to see the mural and the incredible work by Lance, who always manages to perfectly capture the moment,” Sheriff Ivey said. “We are so proud to have Lance as a hardworking member of our agency and also a talented artist who shares his gift with the community.”

The mural is now on display at Melbourne Square Mall, where visitors are encouraged to stop by and view the patriotic artwork celebrating America’s 250th birthday and the enduring legacy of the nation’s military.
