BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Rockledge Raiders came out firing on all cylinders Tuesday night, leading to a 9-2 victory over their rivals, the Viera Hawks.
Freshman pitchers Carter Kemmerling and Dylan Turner handled the Hawks while on the mound, giving up two runs. Junior shortstop Gabe Gonzalez was the top performer in the batter’s box for the Raiders, going 3-4 with 3 RBIs.
Riding high from their upset victory over Vero Beach this past Friday, the Hawks were looking to carry that momentum into their rivalry matchup against the Raiders. However, the Raiders’ stellar pitching was displayed Tuesday night from Raider Field at Rockledge High School.
Freshmen Carter Kemmerling and Dylan Turner both had great outings, only giving up a combined 2 runs. From the first pitch, it was evident the Raiders were on their ‘A’ game. Setting down the side, they got the balls rolling.

Junior shortstop Gaberiel Gonzales put the first run across the board for the Raiders in the bottom of the first inning and they never looked back. Gonzales would finish his evening with three RBIs on a 3-4 night that saw him perform in the batters’ box and the infield.
Landon Norton, Israel Montanez, Jackson Casey, and Micah Cheatham would all push across runs for the Raiders in route to a 9-2 beating of the Viera Hawks. The victory marks win 14 on the season for Rockledge as they look forward to a talented Eau Gallie Commodores team this Friday night.
Viera has now lost their last three against the Raiders dating back to last season, the Hawks will look to get back to their winning ways against Heritage High school tonight as they get ready for the post season.
