Brevard Zoo continues to play a significant role in wildlife conservation
The cotton-top tamarin family at the Brevard Zoo recently grew with the arrival of two new additions. Twins were born to the matriarch, Luna, overnight on January 2.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo in Melbourne will be closed to the public on Sunday, May 3, 2026, due to a scheduled private event.
The temporary closure will affect all guest admissions for the day, and normal operations will resume on Monday, May 4, when the zoo reopens with regular hours from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Located in Melbourne, Brevard Zoo is home to more than 700 animals representing approximately 170 species from around the world.
The facility is widely recognized for its hands-on visitor experiences and its commitment to animal wellness, education, and conservation initiatives.
As a not-for-profit organization, Brevard Zoo continues to play a significant role in wildlife conservation efforts both locally and globally, while also serving as a major attraction on Florida’s Space Coast.
