Palm Bay Police Department Promotes Derek Hollcroft to Sergeant
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department has announced the promotion of Derek Hollcroft to the rank of Sergeant, recognizing his years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to public safety.
Before joining the Palm Bay Police Department in 2013, Sergeant Hollcroft proudly served as a Cavalry Scout in the United States Army and is a recipient of the Purple Heart for his military service.
During his 13 years with the department, Sergeant Hollcroft has served in a variety of roles, including patrol officer, GAME-OVER Task Force officer, field training officer, patrol corporal, and agency training officer.
He has also been a member of the department’s SWAT team for the past 12 years and currently serves as the sniper team lead.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Sergeant Hollcroft earned his degree in Criminology in 2011 before beginning his law enforcement career.
In his new position, Sergeant Hollcroft will initially oversee the department’s Training and Recruiting Unit, where he will help guide the development of future officers and support recruitment efforts.
He will later transition into an assignment within the Uniform Services Division.
Department leaders praised Sergeant Hollcroft’s extensive experience, professionalism, and dedication to both the agency and the community he serves.
His promotion reflects a career built on leadership, service, and a commitment to excellence in law enforcement.
