Flood Advisory Issued for Melbourne, Palm Bay and Southern Brevard Until 3:30 P.M.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Flood Advisory is in effect for portions of southern Brevard County until 3:30 p.m. EDT Thursday as heavy rain moves across the area.

The advisory includes areas around Melbourne, Palm Bay, Viera West, Satellite Beach and Grant-Valkaria.

Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen, and an additional 1 to 2 inches is possible within the advisory area.

Minor flooding could develop in low-lying locations and areas with poor drainage. Heavy rainfall may also reduce visibility and worsen road conditions.

Motorists should use caution, allow additional travel time, and avoid driving through flooded roads.
