Marion Francis Merva, 97, Special Aunt & Friend, Passed Away Peacefully

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Marion Francis Merva, 97, of Melbourne, a special Aunt and Friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

She was an alzheimer’s patient, born August 29, 1914 in Byron, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by the “love of her life”, Ellery Bowden, whom she married in 1952.

Marion lived most of her life in Florida where she was a member of First Methodist Church of Melbourne.

She was an avid card player and an active member of American Legion #163, L.A.V.F.W. Auxiliary 4206 Lifetime member and also Chaplain there for many years.

Marion also was a longtime member of the L.0.0.M. #1046.

She is survived by her niece and nephew, Rick and Christy Bried of Rockport, Illinois, and her longtime friend Marilyn Sexmith and many friends.

Funeral services will be at Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne on Wednesday, April 11th at 12:00 p.m.

Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Cedar Bluff Cemetery in Rockford, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Center for Family Caregivers, 3661 S. Babcock St., Melbourne 32901 for their kind support.
