Titusville To Furlough City Workers Twice In November

Offices Closed Nov. 9 & Nov. 30

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – City workers in Titusville will be furloughed twice this month as part of a new budget plan for the 2013 fiscal year.

City of Titusville spokesman Jim Thomas said in a press release that residents can expect to finds some city offices closed Nov. 9 as a result of the furloughs.

Thomas said administrative offices at Titusville City Hall, the Titusville Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters, the Titusville Police Department Headquarters, the Titusville Public Works and Water Resources Administration offices will be closed Nov. 9 as the first unpaid furlough day for city employees of this fiscal year.

City personnel serving in shift or operational positions will furlough according to varying schedules determined by their respective department heads.

Thomas said emergency response services and solid waste collection schedules will not be affected during the scheduled furlough day.

A second furlough day is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 30.
