EFSC Men Break Losing Streak With 90-68 Victory

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College’s men’s basketball team broke a two-game losing streak on Monday, defeating Gadsden State Community College of Alabama 90-68 on the first day of the Tallahassee Community College Holiday Classic.

Eastern Florida, which improved to 11-3, plays again at 2 p.m. Tuesday, facing East Mississippi Community College. Gadsden fell to 8-5. Eastern Mississippi was 5-1 heading into Monday’s late game against Tallahassee (10-4).
Eastern Florida led Gadsden 44-29 at halftime. Freshman Demetrius McReynolds continued his breakout play for the Titans with a team-high 17 points. Classmate T.J. Cromer added 14 points while sophomore Mike Kirkland had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
“We were rusty after a long layoff,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman. “We will be better tomorrow.”

After the Tallahassee Classic, Eastern Florida plays in the Pasco-Hernando Community College Classic in New Port Richey, facing Georgia Highlands Community College at 2 p.m. Friday and Pasco-Hernando at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Eastern Florida defeated Pasco-Hernando 104-68 on Nov. 12 in Melbourne.
Eastern Florida’s next home game on the Melbourne Campus is its Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference opener against Indian River State College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8.
