BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA –  The Palm Bay Police have identified Delroy Patrick Downer, 45, as the dead man discovered in a home at the 1700 block of Hydrangea Rd. NW. on Sunday.

According to Palm Bay public information officer Yvonne Martinez, the investigation has yielded several leads and it has been determined the homicide was not a random act. There are indications it may have been drug related, and detectives with the Major Case Unit are continuing to investigate the death.

Detectives are currently working with the Brevard County Medical Examiner, who is conducting an autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death.

Palm Bay Police Investigating Suspicious Death

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious death in a residence on the 1700 block of Hydrangea Road NW, according to Yvonne Martinez, City of Palm Bay Public Information Coordinator.

On Sunday, at approximately 7: 25 a.m., the Palm Bay Police Department received a request for a well-being check at the residence, but were unable to make contact with anyone.

Family and friends went to the residence with a house key and discovered signs the male was deceased. When officers arrived back on scene, they searched the residence and discovered a dead man inside the house.

“It is unknown how the male died at this time and his identity has not been confirmed,” said Martinez in a release.
