Merritt Island Woman Killed In Single Vehicle Crash With Traffic Signal Support Pole

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Jessica Hebert, 36, of Merritt Island was killed Thursday morning at about 3:45 a.m. when the vehicle she was driving struck a large traffic signal support pole at State Road 520 and Kiwanis Island Park Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Hebert was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima westbound on State Road 520 (E. Merritt Island Causeway), and approached the intersection of Kiwanis Island Park Road in the outside lane.
Hebert then traveled onto the westbound north raised concrete curb and onto the grass shoulder and the front left of the vehicle struck a large traffic signal support pole.
Herbet’s Nissan rotated counter clockwise and came to final rest facing south on the north side of the large traffic signal support pole.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, there were no other vehicles or persons involved in this crash.
