POLICE: West Melbourne Police Seek Father of Imagine School Student Who Made Threat To Principal

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne police has issued an alert that the department is attempting to locate the parent of one of the students that attends Imagine Schools.
Monday, at approximately 4 p.m., a father arrived to pick up his child and was told that the school had not been notified that he was authorized to pick up the child.
According to West Melbourne Police Sgt. Sergeant Eric Rothery, the student’s mother contacted the West Melbourne Police Department to apologize for the misunderstanding involving her estranged husband, and to report that he made comments threatening to do harm to the principal and possibly the school.
“Acting out of an abundance of caution, extra patrols will be on and around campus today,” said Sgt. Rothery. “Attempts to locate the father have been unsuccessful. No direct threats to the school or any school employee has been made to this point.”
