BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Det. Reed Caswell knows the importance of mitigating chaos which is why he decided to become a member of the department.

Caswell works in the Special Victims Unit which investigates offenses relating to any sexual offense, any child or elder abuse or neglect cases, and any crime as determined by the unit supervisor.

The department’s Sexual Offender and Predator Management Program are also assigned to this unit where they keep track of the registered offenders in the Palm Bay area.

Caswell is a proud of what he does, especially the way the unit protects the young and elderly.

“Dealing with the children and dealing with the elderly is being able to deal with people that normally, typically wouldn’t have a voice of their own,” Caswell said.

“It’s important we do a thorough investigation to the best of our abilities so that the person can be brought to answer for their crimes.”
