BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Detective Tasha Grey made the transition from serving our country in the military to serving our community with the Palm Bay Police Department.

Detective Grey is an eight-year veteran of the Palm Bay Police Department. She has spent the last three years as a detective and the last two years working with the Criminal Investigative Division

She handles financial crimes such as money laundering and does so working with government agencies including the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Secret Service on a special task force out of central Florida.

Detective Grey says she was “welcomed with open arms” into the Palm Bay Police Department following her time in the military.

“The police department is like a brotherhood-sisterhood and we take care of each other,” she said. “They welcomed me in, and I felt very comfortable coming here, as well as in the community.”

The Palm Bay Police Department Criminal Investigative Unit handles all major felony crimes involving violence to persons, such as homicide, home invasion, robbery and shooting cases.

The Unit is also responsible for arsons, frauds and forgery cases. Although most misdemeanor and lower level felony crimes are investigated completely at the patrol level, most felonies are reviewed by the sergeants in the Investigations Division to identify patterns and trends and connection to existing cases.
