BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Famed ocean explorer, conservationist and filmmaker Jean-Michel Cousteau will deliver a presentation at the Brevard Zoo on Saturday, April 25 from 10 to 11 a.m.

The presentation, “Jean-Michel Cousteau: Protecting Our Water Planet,” is presented by Health First Health Plans.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased HERE. Sales support the Zoo’s animal wellness, conservation and education programs.

Like his father Jacques, Cousteau has devoted his life to educating the world about marine life and encouraging action to protect it.

In addition to founding the Ocean Futures Society, Cousteau has earned prestigious awards for the more than 80 films he has produced.

His 2006 documentary Voyage to Kure is credited with inspiring President George W. Bush to establish the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument in Hawaii.

“The Cousteau family has shaped our understanding of the world’s oceans since the 1940s and continues to do so well into the 21st century,” said Karen Davis, the Zoo’s director of development.

“Jean-Michel is nothing short of a living legend, and tales of his seagoing adventures are sure to leave you awestruck and inspired.”

The presentation is part of the Zoo’s Safari Under the Stars fundraising celebration, which is presented by Flammio Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise, Inc.
