WATCH REPLAY: The Merritt Island High School Mustangs Host the Viera Hawks Football from the O-Dome. Ron Lighthall and Jordan Rocco are on the call.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs (8-1) are set to host the Viera Hawks (5-3) in prep football action Friday evening on Space Coast Daily TV.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Mustangs stadium.

The Merritt Island Mustangs are coming off a Class 5A District 8 championship win after defeating the Satellite Scorpions 20-7 last week.

Senior running back Dominic Shields had a big night rushing the ball, finishing the game with 114 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Mustangs put on a great display of defense with a total combined of 44 tackles as a team.

Viera on the other hand is coming off a tough 31-21 loss to the Melbourne Bulldogs where they went on to be District Champions.

Hawks junior linebacker Andreas Foreman had a dominant performance with 4 sacks and 9 total tackles. On the offensive side, junior wide receiver Quincy Gillins had an exceptional evening with 106 yards on 4 receptions.
