BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Beginning March 28, the City of Palm Bay will offer a new e-permitting software solution, Intuitive Municipal Solutions (iMS), to streamline the permitting process for building, driveway, and lot drainage permits, as well as fence and shed review applications.
This web-based solution allows citizens and contractors to submit online permit applications and the supporting documents electronically.
The Building Department offices will be closed to the public on Thursday, March 24, and Friday, March 25 as we transition to iMS and provide staff training on the new software.
Building permit application submittals will be accepted via email until 3:30 p.m on Wednesday, March 23, and will resume on Monday, March 28, through the new iMS portal which will be made available from the city website HERE.
Customers having trouble accessing the new e-permitting system online after March 28 may visit the Building Department at 190 Malabar Rd SW, Suite 105, or call the office at (321) 953-8924 for assistance.
The Building Department’s IVR system to schedule an inspection by phone will also be unavailable starting Wednesday, March 23, at 3 p.m. and will reopen for calls on Monday, March 28, at 7 a.m. Inspections scheduled by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23 will be conducted during regular business hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
Due to the anticipated volume of inspections, those not completed by Thursday, March 24, will be rolled to Friday, March 25. Inspectors will contact customers to reschedule appointments to Friday, March 25, if they are unable to complete an inspection by Thursday afternoon.
Additionally, on March 28, the Building Department will transition to a new fee structure. All credit and debit card transactions made online or in-person will have a 2.95% convenience fee per transaction.
All online payments using an Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Electronic Check will have a $1.50 flat-rate fee. Residents can make in-person payments with cash or check or pay by check via mail at no additional cost.
