BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast will host its 2021/2022 annual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 2,  at the Brevard Zoo Nyami Nyami River Lodge, located at 8225 North Wickham Road in Melbourne.

The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, a community coalition, is the official economic development organization for Brevard County. The Economic Development Commission is committed to helping businesses locate and expand on Florida’s Space Coast.

During the annual meeting discover the EDC’s new major initiative “Our Next Giant Leap” — one prepared by history and poised for the future. Game-changing pioneers and legacy powerhouses are reinventing the Space Coast into the high-tech hub of the 21st century.

Featured speakers will include EDC President and CEO Lynda Weatherman, and Brevard Zoo Director of Philanthropy & Campaign Ellen Winter.

The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. A networking reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres, spirits and beverages are included with registration and will occur immediately after the program.

The program will also include recognition of EDC Volunteer of the Year, Angela Neal of Hiring Our Heroes; and Gary R. Cunningham Distinguished Service Award for Economic Development honoree, Neal Johnson of  Union Home Mortgage.

“We work collaboratively to support companies in their exploration of Florida’s Space Coast with the goal of attracting and growing quality businesses, creating jobs, encouraging new investment – and helping shape Brevard County’s economic future,” said Weatherman.
